Regency Lenormand cards
Regency era in the England and Ireland was a period towards the end of the Georgian era, when King George III was deemed unfit to rule due to his illness and his son ruled as his proxy, as prince regent.
Regency is noted for its elegance and achievements in the fine arts and architecture. This era encompassed a time of great social, political, and economic change.
Regency Lenormand cards are illustrated with artwork of English painter Edmund Blair Leighton (1852 – 1922). Short wisdom sentences are written on each card.
Marie Anne Adelaide Lenormand (1772–1843) was a French necromancer, fortune-teller and cartomancer of considerable fame during the Napoleonic era. After Lenormand's death her name was used on several cartomancy decks. This included a deck of 36 illustrated cards historically known as the Petit Lenormand.
